I've worked in digital media and publishing for over 15 years, overseeing practically all aspects of modern digital publishing businesses, but it's been my grounding in analytics that has been the foundation and consistent throughline of my professional growth. I love to find ways to quantify complex business problems and use the corresponding insights to drive the business up and to the right, and while my responsibilities have increased over time, this curiosity and bias towards diving into the numbers is always there. By combining this approach with strategic understanding and effective communication, I'm able to develop and implement comprehensive operational playbooks that take productivity to the next level. I'm currently the Chief Operating Officer at Ranker, the #1 Online Destination for Crowdsourced Rankings of Everything.

 

My superpower is in creating thriving data and performance driven cultures. By ensuring that individuals at all levels of the company understand how their tasks impact company performance, giving them visibility into the metrics that define successful performance in their specific context, and teaching them how their decisions can affect those metrics, I'm able to empower team members to be more engaged and accountable in their day to day to work. This cultural transformation unleashes more impactful decision making and commitment to success across the entire organization, enabling companies to significantly increase the value of their human capital and drive rapid and sustainable growth.

 

I am also the principal at Hidden Insights, an operations and analytics advisory, where I provide fractional executive and/or consulting services to business of all sizes, ranging from small local businesses to publicly traded companies, and everything in-between. I partner with ambitious companies facing inflection points when existing systems no longer serve their evolving needs. By blending human-centered leadership with powerful business intelligence and analytics, I help these organizations build the operational foundations they need to support their business growth.

 

I live in Thousand Oaks, CA with my wife, Cherisse, and our sons, Camden and Caelan. In my spare time you can find me hacking it up on the golf course or in the kitchen cooking or, more recently, baking.
